Why you should vote me as Mayor
- I have a clear understanding that as Mayor I am the representative voice to Council for Logan City and I have the commitment to work for a Council that is effective, and responsive to our community needs
- As a Legal professional and Law academic, I have the experience necessary to engage councillors to bring trust, leadership, good governance and transparency to Logan City Council and to foster consensual dialogue and be an intervener or moderator
- As a successful Crises Manager – Change Agent and Business Creator/ owner I know:
- what it takes to establish and bring back organisational stability and faith that Logan City Council runs a tight, well governed ship;
- How important it is to work with Councillors and the CEO, to effect good financial management and an organisation that is responsive to its constituency;
- how to engage with business, State and Federal bodies and Industry to create the confidence that brings jobs, services and increased prosperity to our community;
- How to consult with constituents, to work with local business and community focusing on our city’s economy, community needs and our environment
- Having been involved for over 40 years in Logan Community organisations I have a good understanding about how Logan City Council can help support our community.
I have assisted many Logan Entities as in Sporting clubs and facilities, arts and crafts societies, and on transport, easing of traffic congestion, parking, low income families, pensioners and older people on Centrelink, Industrial Relations Disputes eg Unfair practices (terminations) and young people seeking work or work advancement, for women on domestic violence, people with disability, newly arrived migrants trying to integrate, those with mental health issues, and neighbourhood safety are just a few of the issues impacting our community and where my Logan City Council shall have a positive impact.

Established and have operated successfully Allan R de Brenni & Co Solicitors at Underwood Road Rochedale & South Australia from 1985-2020 employing Locum when overseas, interstate and on academic terms. Initially was Crim, Family Law, Personal Injury and Conveyancing & Police Matters eg DUI RBT and Drugs Misuse disciplines of practice. These have grown to include Succession & Estate Law, Industrial Relations Disputes, Building Law, Business Development and Reconstruction after Insolvency or Challenged Trading, Major Disputes with the Australian Taxation Office including High Court Matter of VOYKA and similar matter in the District and Supreme Court Qld where Court of Appealed twice where client seeks a pardon and conviction be set aside , leasing for farms and shops by corporate and small retail centres
Concurrently I have operated a consultancy business for Real estate Franchisor PROFILE REAL ESTATE Adelaide Melbourne Sydney Franchisees and currently have right to Profile SE Qld (NOT TRADED). As Joint Family Corporate Trustee own and operate small portfolio of land houses beside our own residence in Rochedale and look forward to selling with view to owning a unit at North Burleigh presently rented 2 months a year.

Monash University Churchill Campus Senior Lecturer, Reader, A/g in role of Associate Professor when Dr George Venturini (author of Trade Practices Act) Indisposed re industrial relations matters and when Churchilll Campus lost $8million in Geelong & Pyramid Bldg Society Collapse. Facilitated transitioning from CAE to University Status the MultiDisciplinary Business Degree Law & Governance Subjects to Auditors/Accounting, Engineering, Nursing,Management, Finance and Tourism Students. This was on Campus supervising lecturers and tutors and established library resources, curriculum. Assessments, and wrote materials (support of Prof Paul Latimer Clayton) for Distance Education (“ DE” ) Campuses of HongKong, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, New Zealand and Australia
* Previously Lecturer Adelaide University Roseworthy Agricultural College near Barossa Valley where similar transitioning and same duties and responsibilities at time of Westpac Letter ( Banks failed to advise investors to hedge or insure against international currency fluctuations) Alan Kohler, Trevor Sykes and Paul Kelly of Finance Report & Australian provided materials used in DE Notes Curriculum . To advising companies including LOGAN Pastoral Company, Archefield Engineering P/L and past academic engagements and UNICO Pty Ltd tutoring and lecturing as spot events in ethics and governance when time permitted 1988-1993 evidences commercial standing and my sound ethics. Landmere Pty Ltd is the de Brenni Family Discretionary Trust (no-one presently entitled) a transparent vehicle by which greater family interests are pursued. These are undertaken to benefit the deBRENNI children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren from income, sale proceeds to be deployed to modest SE Qld acreage; a holding with fruit, grapes, and bees as my hobby in retirement. I share similar interest with friends with small holdings of Apiary Activity for honey and polenisation.
Preceeding are post 1975-80 VFL Football career over after two major injuries to shoulder, kneck jaw, teeth, & major concussion etc wife Kathryn ex PA to Snr Law Councillor Lex Jolly influenced LAW study and success came. Advancements from leading Chief Investigation Officer Tasmania, 2 I C WA, and Senior Qld to Personnel Industrial Relations Dept as Discipline Appeals & Claims Officer to Administration Officer to Public Relations Manager in State Manager suite of Telecom Australia Brisbane at creation of new Commission. In latter role was administrator of PR & State Managers’ Budgets and oversight Audit Unit, as “officer of last resort” in disputes including instructing Deputy Crown Solicitor “ C of A “
1977 Inaugral Full Time Student Rep of QIT Law School and as Member of Academic Board liaised between staff , adult undergraduates, academic board and administration ((Peter Wellington Qld Speaker Part Time) engaging to establish what is now a top law school -Graduating QUT 1981.
Legal Professional Career
1982-85 ahead of QIT 2nd Class Honors engaged as experienced crises change agent and solicitor to intervene and rehabilitate administration by First Tier Law Firm of Seymour Nulty Solicitors Commercial eg Mercantile Mutual, Myers developments Brisbane and similarly in Adelaide for Michael Brown. Undertaken to Constituents to Practice Law in Logan given as LCC candidate to avert administrator was fulfilled on election to LCC 1985-88 as elected Division 1 Alderman.
I faithfully and professionally practicse Law in SE Queensland putting “ SERVICE ABOVE SELF “ ensuring all Logan People can access legal representation. Initially I was a Legal Aid Provider and Duty Lawyer at all Magistrates Courts. After two decades many matters now are pro-bono including a decade of voluntarily wring Last Wills on behalf of Red Cross Australia and to those who suffer from mental impairments.
My father passed 1986 left four widowed; 2 my siblings, ladies and executor brother health indisposed necessitated my standing down from Council “for family reasons” to facilitate administration of complex rural & industrial estate and international estate obligations in Europe.
Notwithstanding I contest elections my wife of 48yrs; Kathryn, requiring a kitchen, accepts we have successfully raised our three sons; Mick Matt Lachlan each with two children all living and working in or for Logan. My passion is community service having succeeded at Rotary and Canefields Club House building and rehabilitating recently compromised executive and administration respectively.
*In teens I aspired to Roseworthy Agricultural College but only Invested in Wheat Sheep Farming property with family in Esperance 7000 hectares and developed and sold profitable with enhanced cropping and stock returns.
Whilst Public Servant in 1960s-70s and Investigator and intended pastoralist I was beneficiary of land grant but never advanced beyond Pitt St (Wickham Tce ) Farmer investing with father in Brigalow 26700 hectares @ $0.02 hectare /annum to do improved pastures on the ranges where Dawson River rises 250 k west of Rockhampton. We succeeded profiting on achieving “ FreeHold “ and making improvement by contractors with dams, homestead, fencing, pasture, and with stock management selling FreeHold after drought broken two years ie is 1974.
From very early age operated delicatessen under sparse supervision to independent as it became first super-mart in St Marys Adelaide trading to refugees with fruit veg, groceries , haberdashery, bicycles, hardware, meshermitt motor bike (3 wheeler), garden and auto repair tools
In teens established nursery business and cultivated tomatoes and lettuce etc from seeds under glass from Packets of seeds $0.25 Sold 50 punnets (of 10 seedlings at $1.00 each) within 6 weeks
Enterprising Youth – Nurtured upto 16 in number of 2 and 3 day old orphaned lambs saved from knackery bottled fed to 3 months and agisted in suburbia akin to Woodridge House Os. Shorn at least twice and then sold as “two teeth”for $6.00 (adult week salary). Pre the Victa these made great Lawn mowers and pocket money. Family & friends had DevonHill Stud at Wild Horse Plains Dublin SA

ROTARY Club of LOGAN for a decade # and on its relocation to Meadowbank and then Cornubia through Carindale and Salisbury Clubs achieved RC of ROCHEDALE SETP Chartering 15th June 2018 at Parliament House Brisbane. This achieved after 3years public consultation of an idea at Glen Hotel.
Inaugral 2018 President of Rochedale continuing in development of projects # such as supporting CaneFields ClubHouse Beenleigh Inc installing disability toilets for members at new Meadowbrook Community Hub. We UNITE with neighbouring clubs to do international and national projects and local of, Adopt a Road, Billy-Cart Championship, Logan Bike Ride, Wellness Walk, Donations In Kind (“DIK”), Bowel Scan Kits, Eradication of Polio and Chrome Street Salisbury Market Fair.
Current (from 2002) as a Rotary Project Chairman “ RYDA “ Brisbane SE Metropolitan & LOGAN and west to Toowomba and St George as the pre eminent “ road safety education initiaitive “ which has provided service to 25,000 year 11 students and 300,000 winning State and National Award 2019.
