1982-85 ahead of QIT 2nd Class Honors engaged as experienced crises change agent and solicitor to intervene and rehabilitate administration by First Tier Law Firm of Seymour Nulty Solicitors Commercial eg Mercantile Mutual, Myers developments Brisbane and similarly in Adelaide for Michael Brown. Undertaken to Constituents to Practice Law in Logan given as LCC candidate to avert administrator was fulfilled on election to LCC 1985-88 as elected Division 1 Alderman.
I faithfully and professionally practicse Law in SE Queensland putting “ SERVICE ABOVE SELF “ ensuring all Logan People can access legal representation. Initially I was a Legal Aid Provider and Duty Lawyer at all Magistrates Courts. After two decades many matters now are pro-bono including a decade of voluntarily wring Last Wills on behalf of Red Cross Australia and to those who suffer from mental impairments.
My father passed 1986 left four widowed; 2 my siblings, ladies and executor brother health indisposed necessitated my standing down from Council “for family reasons” to facilitate administration of complex rural & industrial estate and international estate obligations in Europe.
Notwithstanding I contest elections my wife of 48yrs; Kathryn, requiring a kitchen, accepts we have successfully raised our three sons; Mick Matt Lachlan each with two children all living and working in or for Logan. My passion is community service having succeeded at Rotary and Canefields Club House building and rehabilitating recently compromised executive and administration respectively.

Whilst Public Servant in 1960s-70s and Investigator and intended pastoralist I was beneficiary of land grant but never advanced beyond Pitt St (Wickham Tce ) Farmer investing with father in Brigalow 26700 hectares @ $0.02 hectare /annum to do improved pastures on the ranges where Dawson River rises 250 k west of Rockhampton. We succeeded profiting on achieving “ FreeHold “ and making improvement by contractors with dams, homestead, fencing, pasture, and with stock management selling FreeHold after drought broken two years ie is 1974.
From very early age operated delicatessen under sparse supervision to independent as it became first super-mart in St Marys Adelaide trading to refugees with fruit veg, groceries , haberdashery, bicycles, hardware, meshermitt motor bike (3 wheeler), garden and auto repair tools
In teens established nursery business and cultivated tomatoes and lettuce etc from seeds under glass from Packets of seeds $0.25 Sold 50 punnets (of 10 seedlings at $1.00 each) within 6 weeks
Enterprising Youth – Nurtured upto 16 in number of 2 and 3 day old orphaned lambs saved from knackery bottled fed to 3 months and agisted in suburbia akin to Woodridge House Os. Shorn at least twice and then sold as “two teeth”for $6.00 (adult week salary). Pre the Victa these made great Lawn mowers and pocket money. Family & friends had DevonHill Stud at Wild Horse Plains Dublin SA
ROTARY Club of LOGAN for a decade # and on its relocation to Meadowbank and then Cornubia through Carindale and Salisbury Clubs achieved RC of ROCHEDALE SETP Chartering 15th June 2018 at Parliament House Brisbane. This achieved after 3years public consultation of an idea at Glen Hotel.
Inaugral 2018 President of Rochedale continuing in development of projects # such as supporting CaneFields ClubHouse Beenleigh Inc installing disability toilets for members at new Meadowbrook Community Hub. We UNITE with neighbouring clubs to do international and national projects and local of, Adopt a Road, Billy-Cart Championship, Logan Bike Ride, Wellness Walk, Donations In Kind (“DIK”), Bowel Scan Kits, Eradication of Polio and Chrome Street Salisbury Market Fair.
Current (from 2002) as a Rotary Project Chairman “ RYDA “ Brisbane SE Metropolitan & LOGAN and west to Toowomba and St George as the pre eminent “ road safety education initiaitive “ which has provided service to 25,000 year 11 students and 300,000 winning State and National Award 2019.
